Being in the accustomed to Muncie architecture, walking through the city of Budapest was equivalent to walking through a museum. The history and culture is not something students will forget.
Before the students explored the streets of Vienna, they passed by the Austrian Parliament Building. After a few hours in Vienna, the students travelled across country borders to Slovakia.

The hotel began to feel more like the student's home each day. Despite getting very little sleep during the whole trip, it was nice to come back to a place where they could relax.
While on the way to Vaci Street, pedestrians can see the busy streets of Budapest as cars and trucks pass by.
After the Hungarian dance the class saw in the theater, they took a night cruise of the Danube. It was a beautiful and new site that the students were not accustomed to seeing. The river in Budapest reflects the city lights, making their evening brighter.

Students were in for quite the treat when Weber visited the class. Bringing in kieflies that her mother made for the class was a great way to get the class's attention.
One bag of kieflies was made with walnuts, the traditional kind of kieflie. The other one was filled with apricots. Both had the students visiting the bag frequently to get more.
Weber brought items from Hungary with her that had special meaning. This article of clothing was handstitched by a member of her family.

Marty Weber is of Hungarian descent and lives near South Bend. The students enjoyed hearing about her family, culture and past experiences in Budapest.

After experimenting with Google Glass, Kyle Parker, the creator of the tablet travel app, helped the Budapest students learn how to use it. A number of the students did use the tablet and travel app while in Budapest.
Miranda Carney was familiar with the travel app and tablet because she used them on a previous university trip to Italy. She is the Budapest student responsible for classmates learning about this additional way to communicate travel experiences.

Google Glass and Tablet Day
As the students prepare to go to Hungary, Kyle Parker visits the class with tablets to take on their journey to mark all of the places they explore. Google Glass was also a big part of the information day. Imagine seeing college students being able to see the future. That's how great it was.
Hungarian students came to dinner thinking they were meeting diplomats, they were pleasantly surprised to see nine Ball State students.
Embroidery lines the hall in the basement of the Karolyi Palace. Visitors are allowed to touch the very well done embroidery. No threads were even visibly coming off the art.

On the last free day of the trip, students crossed Liberty Bridge to get to Gellért Spa. The Bridge crossed the Danube River and is a short walk from the hotel.
Abbey Venable, Jamie Fischer and Amon Rizvi went to Julia Sabatine's apartment in Buda. Julia showed the students around her new place and described her hopes to stay in one place for a while. After the interview, Julia played the students a song on her guitar.
After the final day in the city, students packed up to go home. After a day spent around the city, students went the Rudas Spa for a night swim.
On the last free day of the trip, students crossed Liberty Bridge to get to Gellért Spa. The Bridge crossed the Danube River and is a short walk from the hotel.
